Graphic tutorial #8

Step 1: Open up two pictures.  I’m going to use selena gomez pictures, this and this. Make sure you resize your picture; you don’t want to make the picture look small or too big. 

Step 2: To make things easier, save and open this template/picture on photoshop. 

Step 3: Select the quick selection tool or whatever tool that yore comfortable with; but i’m just using quick selection tool and start selecting the person (x). 

Step 4: Make a new document(file>new). Width 500 pixels and height 530 pixels. make sure it’s transparent. click ok. (x)

Step 5: On first picture that you select. go to edit>copy. go to the new document and go to edit>paste. Adjust the picture using the move tool.

Step 6: On the first picture again, (make sure it’s still selected if not select the person again), go to layer>new fill layer>solid color. choose the color for the shadow behind the person, i use pink. After that go to layer>flatten image.

Step 7:  Using the magic wand tool, select the color that you choose in Step 6 (x). Go to edit>copy and paste it on the new document. 

Step 8: Make sure the layer on the new document like this. (x) Using the move tool, adjust the shadow. My result (x). Then go to layer>merge visible.

Step 9: Find a texture for the background behind the person, i’m using this one. Open the texture on photoshop and then drag the texture to the template that you save in step 2 or if you find it complicated go to the texture click select>all and the edit>copy. go to the template and click edit>paste. 

Step 10: Set the blending mood of the layer to lighten. (x) 

Step 11: Select the magic wand tool and select the white part on the template. Using the eraser tool erase it. like this (x) (x)

Step 12: On the result in step 8, go to select>all and then edit>copy. Go to the template and the edit>paste. As you can see the picture is straight, try rotating/adjust the image. (x)

Step 13: Now, for the bottom part of the picture. Open up the second picture and make the background transparent-how? select the quick selection tool or any other tool and then select the person. go to edit>copy merged. Make a new document of 500 pixels width and 320 pixels height (make sure the document are transparent.). after that go to edit>paste on the new document.

Step 14: Once you’re done with step 13, go to image>image rotation>180. 

Step 15: Go to select>all and then edit>copy. Paste it on the template. 

Step 16: Adjust/rotate the picture. Add coloring/psd, sharpen the picture. save and you’re done!

*optional: If you want to make photo set. go to image>image size. change the width to 245 pixels (make sure that the constrain proportions are tick it’ll automatically change the height size)
